Help me please

Asked this over at arcade otaku and thought I would ask here too as this a Naomi specific forum.

Basically I have bought a Naomi 2 mobo from Japan which I assume has a Jap bios installed :smt017

I have connected it all up and put my Virtua Tennis cart in and all i get is a black screen, no sound, nothing!!

The mobo poers up etc but does not attempt to boot

Any ideas?? :smt010

Thanks

Check if the 5V, 3.3V lines are O.K. Both should read a little more: like 5.1/5.2 and 3.35.

Also, is your Naomi2 set to the correct frequency (15 or 31khz)?

Power the Naomi2 without the cart inserted. Does it give a splash screen and an error?

Hi

Yeah powered up without cart and no splash screen or error

I will check frequency but surely it should still make the noise when splash screen boots up???

Sorry for the noob question but how do i check the lines??

Thanks

No problem.. :-)

Checking the 5v and 3.3v is done using a simple multimeter, like this one:

There are even cheaper ones available; you should use a digital one imo.

If you know someone that knows how to use a multimeter, ask him/her to check the voltages for you. If there is no one to help, let us know. We will talk you through the process :-)
