No serial but the mystery of the numbers behind the normal serial-number

are region-numbers. I found it in a Sega Marine Fishing manual.

On most game boards the last -xx digit is region, normally for Japan you do not have the -xx digit on the end.



Most kits where sold as mainboard + rom board.



Most games run on all regions regardless, well on the Naomi you can tell by opening the cartridge and checking the security chip.

I was to fast.

Its not the romboard, it is the mainboard.

I take a look on my Marine Fishing board and there are no extra numbers on the end.

It is a white sticker on the case on the mainboard, most get removed.



My HOTD2 has one HOD-4200-02



-02 = Export

-01 = USA



HOD-4200 is Japan

@Gilles54- could the topic be amended to include NAOMI GD-ROM SYSTEM data? a query of the forum index returned bupkis for that system.
