I recently purchased a N1 Motherboard off of ebay, and to find out had issues.. after seller not working with me, I decided to attempt to fix.. after about an hour, unit is back in working order.
Turns out C29 had leaked onto the board, ruining a trace on D1 and pin 4 IC31, after removal of C29, and the IC31 Socket, cleaning board, and fixing the traces and replacing the IC31 socket, board repaired and working shape.
IC29 was getting power, but 0 volts from CMOS Battery when no power, D1 is what provides power to IC29 when the power is off.
IC31 contain data for the Altera chip to be able to access the cart, if it fails to load the serial eeprom, it doesn't work, and doesn't recognise anything.
low Res, High Res, and ebay horrer story here:
