I do not understand why this problem exists either. It worked fine with Mono PCBs before I hooked up the JVS cable for Naomi using the stereo input connector...now when I switch back to mono->speaker connection it doesn't work.

I opened the Power Supply, and tapped the Mono input on the sound board from underneth (using a multimeter to verify the jamma + and - mono line input to sound board connector). You can do the same much easier by splicing into the jamma harness + and - wires. I then split the mono to 2 female RCA connectors, and use the JVS stereo sound wire to connect to the stereo input (using 2 male RCA connectors to my hacked female connectors).

Does that make sense?

I understand your setting and for me it is efficient. Indeed, among the numerous attempts I did, I connected at the same time the Naomi at the sound amplifier and at the power supply with a mono pcb to the jamma port. And incredible, I had a perfect sound even if the pcb and the naomi sounds were superimposed!

So the setting you done is not far from mine. By my side, I do not think to make your setting because I do not want to modify the jamma wires but it is a good idea. For the mono pcb I will have to use the older power supply...

I am waiting for answers about our problem. Once I have the solution, I will return to this forum to tell it to you!

Thank you, Benoit.

Hi,

I just received the answer of RiverService ; it is a japanese arcade specialist. And they tell me this:

"Dear Mr. Benoit:

Hello, sorry about the late reply.

Please check the following advice and attached pictures.

1) JAMMA PCB

Since there is sound from JAMMA PCB AMP, we do not use NVS-4000 AMP.

Thus sound will come out from JAMMA PCB's speaker.

2) How to make sound out from JAMMA PCB-NVS-4000

A: Connect NVS-4000 by using AMP 18pin connector (black male) sound+(16)speaker+(17) short

B: Connect NVS-4000 by using AMP 18pin connector (black male) sound-(12)speaker-(18)をshort

C: Adjust up JAMMA PCB sound volumn.

D: If still no sound, the volumn was not up enough, or connection is bad, or speaker, PCB bad.

2) NAOMI PCB

There is no sound from AMP, thus you must use NVS-4000 AMP.

Hope you can resolve your problem by it.

Best regards,

An"

We were very close to the truth!

Thank you, Benoit.

Hi wangfu_fr, thanks for the followup! So are you saying we need to short two of the wires on the 18 pin connector if we wish to use Mono PCB sound input? Is this what you did in your pictures? And does this now work?

The last picture in your series is too small to read, if you can upload a higher resolution that would be much appreciated.

Hi,

as you wrote, I think also that it is necessary to get out two wires of the 18 pin connector. I did not try on my system because the mono pcb work well with my small power supply for new astro. Sorry for the last picture, I received it in this condition...
