What adapters did you pick up with it? I'm looking at it, and wondering if I need the adapter for the 40/42 pin adapter. LMK. Thanks.
Yes, it does need an adapter. I have the 40/42 adapter for flashing the bigger sized roms. They don't cost much, so it was a no-brainer. :D

NOTE: The adapter comes with a piece-of-crap, 'do-it-yourself' bus cable. Instead I used a couple of 4-conductor CD-ROM audio cables I had lying around from previous purchases. Most cables nowadays are 3-conductor only, so watch out for that. :smt045

I started with a Willem but sold it after a few months to buy a Xeltek SuperPro 3000U. I couldn't be happier about that decision. No hassle anymore, it just WORKS and also supports almost 39000 devices today.

:smt120 :smt103 :smt104 Oh geez, I've seen those. Unless you prototype a lot of stuff, its worth it. I was looking at the 280U or the 580U, but that's not for a little while... :smt005

The Willem USB is super easy to use, it works the first time, every time, and it's super fast. As for the cable, I'm not sure I have it any more, but it's a 6-conductor cable with bare ends, no connectors. :smt013 As I mentioned before, I used CD-ROM cables instead and it works like a charm. :D

Well, I haven't tried the USB Willem. All I can tell you is to NEVER EVER buy the crappy parallel Willem.

Xeltek 3000U is plain luxury but over the years I've owned mine it has proven itself worthy of every penny over and over again.

Neither of the Willem products on ebay are true Willem programmers. Look at http://www.willem.org/catalog/. The latest version is 4.5 and is has a parallel port. Someone copied the schematics and altered it to put on a USB port. I am not saying that it is bad, it is just not the original.

It doesn't really matter. As long as it works, it's fine with me. ;)
