on MvC2 with the DC control ports you can use a DC pad to control characters, also VMU points are gained.

Grabbed this off the old board for making your own DC pad connection to Naomi.

Hey

I hate to dredge up such an old thread but I have a question about using some DC controllers.

Even if i'm not interested in the VMU stuff is it possible to use the DC controllers as a generic controller? I mostly want to be able to play the VFs maybe MVC2 and SFZ3 but that's about it.

I'm mostly interested because a supergun seems like overkill since I don't need the video/audio or power only the control. I've thought about just soldering the controller to a jamma harness but I wanted to check this first. Suggestions are welcome!

Did anyone figure out what type of molex connector is required here? I'm interested as well.

Direct connections to the Naomi filterboard are JST connectors. As for the exact part numbers, it's probably best to ask AndyGeezer.

Do the DC controllers work on MvC2? If so, where is the Vm-kit option? And is that needed for the controls to work or just the VM functionality? I searched high and low all through the test menus but didn't find that option. I don't have any JST connectors but I found that a firewire/usb header plug will fit. I was able to get the VMU on my DC controller to power on but no controls worked at all. Tried swapping the two serial wires around and moving between all 4 player ports, but nothing happened. Any ideas?

I think MvC2 uses the VMU only (saves, points, etc). Also, the VMU option in the test mode seems to appear with the JPN bios in the other games that have this ability.
