faulty/burnt out 16bit buffer on the rom board

It is common N2 rom boards.

Send it to Ken Westerfield @ www.irepairsega.com, remember to tell him Andy sent you for best service :)

Have you tried any other game cartraiges?

Yes, everything else works. Virtua Striker 3 cart and GD-rom games.

Thanks for the info! I sent him an email, but I saw the "75 $ an hour, one hour minimum"-bit, and asked him about it, let's see if a new game would be cheaper.

You could replace all the 16bit buffers on the board (9 or so), but you have to be good at SMT work.

It will be either the buffers, or the sec chip on the rom board that is faulty

The opr/mpr mask roms hardly ever fail.

On an unrelated note, please look at the picture on the first post.

My screen is good at the top but on the bottom the white letters have red and blue shadow images around them. How can I focus these colours?

EDIT: I looked at the Sanwa monitor manual here on the site, opened up my cab and located all the adjustment knobs. Well, now my picture is sharp, shaped right and in good contrast, but nothing I found adjusted the shadow colours. Just overall red, green and blue hues.

Is this just something I need to live with, or is there some trick to this?
