I've taken a look at my jamma rev. A board, and I see only one 'solder addition'. There is a resistor connecting two contacts through the solder side (bottom) of the board, right underneath the relay (a white box located at the 15pin video connector marked RY1). I hope this helps! :D

And you've ha no problems at all with your board joshua? People talk about problems with the A board but I can't figure out what they are. I want to be sure before I purchase one.

thats present on the Rev B's too so I wouldn't think that is the "mod"

starke, from what Andy says, the only downer about the Rev A is some of them don't coin up via the JAMMA connector - which wouldn't bother me as I usually use freeplay anyways. I haven't tested my Rev A board to see if that has any mods or if it coins up normally as the machine its installed on is also one of my machines I use on freeplay

on a side note, i've got a spare Rev A or Rev B I/O, but I wouldn't sell it for 100 euros, thats the equivalent of approx ?65 GBP, it would cost me ?120 shipped for a Capcom I/O - works out cheaper to buy a New Shuttle PSU (?50 shipped for a new XPC PSU) and simply make use of the Sega I/O - luckily most of my machines have stereo amps, or I have fitted mini 12v Stereo amps.

if your willing to deal with Vektorlogic - he has some Sega I/O's up on eBay for ?99 GBP

I found out on another site that it needs a coin counter hooked up. They suggested a 100 ohm resisitor between the coin counter and the +5V wire, which works.

I managed to get a real coin counter and changed out the resistor for it. Now I can see how many coins I put in (although I think the Naomi keeps track of this in memory anyway), but just watching a mechanical counter go up when I put a quarter in my coin door is cool.

Don't know if player 2 needs a coin counter hooked up also or not. I've only been using player 1 controls.

I'm trying to figure out which revision of the I/O I have but there's no sticker specifying either one. Is there some other visual difference that I could look for to let me know which one I have? Thanks.

Wow, so nobody can find the Sega I/O Rev A coin mod? I'm now in need of this as well.

What do you need the mod for? What is it that you are trying to do? If your I/O is not responding to the coin switches, than do what RomShark says in his post at the top of this page.
