hey,
i just bought a naomi set up on ebay, and assumed it was a sega jamma i/o from the small pic.
but the seller just sent me some more up close and personal shots, and well, what is this:

does anyone know what i/o this is?
That is the Sega JVS I/O or standard, non-jamma I/O. This would work with any game, but it will not plug into a jamma harness.
The reason for this (at least in the beginning) was that Sega hardware had their own power supplies and the controls were hooked directly to this I/O board. Sega cabinets were/are connected the same way, just with different games and artwork. Afterwards, Sega developed the Jamma version for 'upgrade kits' that would work in any Jamma cabinet.

yes you can wire up these to a jamma finger board . however if i remember right (it was about 18 months ago) i wired the controls only to the jamma finger board ,stopped using the dc power supply in my cabinet and used the naomi power supply . it took some rewiring here and there but it works well ... someone on here gave me the pinout for this i/o (60 pins) and i am still thanking them .ask around and im sure someone still has it. good luck
the 60 pin connector is used for the control panel inputs, audio & video will come directly from the Naomi Mobo.
Don't forget you need to supply 12 & 5 V to the I/O to power it as well.
Wiring diagram is available at the end of the Naomi Cab owbers manual from the resources section of the main site.

My cab had that kind of connector in it, but the person i bought from took the io.
Now I have a capcom io, but all the original jvs wiring inside. Aside from buy ing the jvs io, is there a harness i could make to connect the jvs into and then into the capcom jamma io?
Also, I see no visible psu in the cab, but there is a plug that goes directly to the fan, and it does light the marquee and monitor... is this same plug what powers the jvs or is there another psu somewhere?

jvs wiring
Well what I'd like to do, is wire some kind of harness which would allow the cab to be jamma, but natively jvs. I know down the road I'm going to get cps2 games which are jamma, but will also use it for naomi which is jvs.joshua3dg wrote:Considering the amount of work needed to convert all this wiring for the Capcom I/O, wouldn't it be better to just get the JVS version? Once you have it, just plug it right in! :smt047
