Hi All
Just need some advise I'm after buying a naomi 1,2 system from Ray Lui at coinopexpress.com maybe Melty Blood complete set........I've done my home work but I'm stuck on a few proberly easy point's to you experienced among you..........I have the following : japanese Vega Jr Supergun with a 1.5 meter jamma lead with CPS 1 & 2 adapter's
I wish to hook this up to a japanese naomi 1 or 2 via a capcom I/O jamma unit.....now as I can see the VGA output from the naomi goes into the VGA input on the capcom I/O jamma unit. But how do you then connect to a monitor/T.V......my supergun has a RGB output so do I need to run the supergun RGB output though a RGB to VGA converter like the one in this link I'm thinking of buying as it look's like the RGB to VGA converter has the option to auto pick up horizontal and vertical picture's ie shooter's http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/default.asp ... oduct=1268
The T.V I'm thinking of is maybe a LCD or would anyone recommed a monitor up for idea's on set's and monitor's.
Hope this all make's sense as it's hard to get a cross in writing what I mean.
Really hope somone will help as I am genuine and madly want to set up a naomi system but as space is limited I need to try and hook it up to my supergun..........but I want to do it right no sort cut's.....so any advise would be greatfull.

Newbie question on conecting a naomi 1,2 to a Vega Supergun.
1) The Capcom I/O converts the VGA connector and outputs to RGB video through the jamma edge just like any other jamma board. If your supergun outputs to TV, then no other converters are needed as the Naomi can output both VGA(31khz) and RGB standard(15khz).
2) The Capcom I/O uses the same kick harness as CPS 2 and 3. So wiring should be easy.
3) In my opinion, getting an LCD monitor would be better because
a)it takes up much less space
b)if you buy the right type, you can rotate the LCD for vertical games (no converters needed
)
c)with the right dip switch settings, all of the games will output to VGA.
The only possible drawback to this is that some fighters, like SF3, look better on the RGB setting.

Thank's for the reply Joshua3dg.......if I buy a monitor this will only have VGA input's....did you mean a LCD T.V....sorry to be a plank but can you explain answer c the dip switch setting....do you basicly mean the LCD T.V setting's menus.

In reference to answer 'c', the Naomi has dip switches where all the connections are (aka=filter board). When switch one is 'ON', the system outputs at standard arcade RGB resolution (jamma). When the switch is 'OFF', it outputs at VGA resolution (640x480), which can be used by a standard PC monitor, including LCD monitors. The beauty of this is that you can play all of the Naomi games without using video converters.

Can you recommend an LCD plesae........
Hi There
Can you recommend an LCD.........as getting confused :smt017 ........can we go from the start again from naomi goes the vga lead into the capcom converter.....then my supergun output's in rgb........I get that........but I've been in town today and cannot find any LCD T.V that has a rotate function.....so if I need a LCD monitor is there only one's with vga input or can you buy one's with both rgb and vga........if you get what I mean.....the only problem I see is if I can only get a LCD monitor with vga input and a rotate function how do I connet this from my supergun rgb output..........hope you follow me.......sorry to be a pain........hope I can return the favor when up and running and and learn a little more.

Just been thinking.........
Hi Again
Just been thinking :smt073 ........would I be right in saying that if I take the vga lead out of the capcom jamma unit.........I could plug it in a vga input monitor........and when the vga is put back into the capcom unit it's would be used on a standard rgb lcd t.v with my supergun output rgb....still could do with some idea's on what to buy.
