I/O problems with capcom vs snk game

Post by OldFoo »

Hi,

I have a naomi 2 system, some days ago I bought a new game,

capcom vs snk but when I try to start it afther the load the program say

"i/o error the i/o baord doesn?t hahe anought function or buttons"

I have a 5001B I/0 and I have tryed to move the jumper to "IN"

but it is the same...

Do I need a 5002 I/O or a capcom I/O?

Which are the games that need more than 4 butttons?

With my I/o can I play all naomi games?

Please help me.......

thanks a lot!!!!

I'm not sure what 5001/5002 means, but you probably have one of the following:

1) Jamma I/O

2) Sega dedicated I/O (no jamma edge)

3) Capcom I/O

4) Sega V2 I/O (similar to Capcom)

If you are getting this error, it probably means that:

1) Your I/O is not getting enough power (or not at all)

2) Your I/O is ver. 1 and you need to connect a counter

3) Your game does not like your I/O (less likely, but possible)

You need to check for these possible issues.

thanks for your reply...

there are some kind of normal jamma I/O, for example the 5001 has

old brown and black cylindrical capacitor, 5002 has new low gray capacitor....

my system works fine with all the other games I have.....

about the counter.....the coins switches are ok....

I will try to increase the power....

With the normal I/O can I play all naomi games??

Yes, but the wiring will be different and perhaps more complex (depending on your knowledge/skill level).

Hi,

my level in naomi is good....

I have two naomi 2 systems, one naomi1 and two triforce all working fine more than 30 games and a lot of spare parts......

the problem is that I am trying to do a cab with inside a naomi2 system, a triforce system and mame all together.....

As soon as I will finish my work I will show you what I have done.....

An old post, I know, but was curious if the OP ever resolved this problem? I'm running into it with Capcom vs. SNK 2 using a Naomi 2 and a Capcom i/o.

Got it. Need to make sure that the 3rd switch in the Capcom i/o is pushed all the way over to the right.
