Naomi Monitor Rotates

Hello

Been lurking here and finally first post.

I am Hitesh from Eastbourne, England. I have been a Killercabs regular for a few years now and now that I have a Naomi, I hang around here too.

I have a Naomi which I got in a swap for a LS Sound. Did not ask too many questions when I got it and when it came, it had no I/O etc and therefore I use it for PC Mame and Dreamcast. Very happy with it. Now I am thinking of getting a second one to play Ikaruga on Vertical screen.

So the question is, is it easy to rotate monitor and more importantly, hare monitors "happy" to be rotated?

Whether or not your monitor can 'easily' rotate depends on the type or model of the cab. A select few have the internal ability to rotate the monitor by removing a few screws. Most others do not have these mechanisms and it would be more difficult to do, but not impossible.

As the monitor is on a frame its just a case of removing the nuts, taking off the back cover & disconnecting the wires, lifting the monitor out & turning it, very simple.

Simple

Remove the black plastic at the back of the monitor.

Remove the cables to the monitor (& try not to touch anything high-voltagey)

Remove the Plastic surround for the monitor & the rear of the CP. There are 2 screws under the CP IIRC. Don't forget the speaker cables!

Undo the 4 nuts in the 4 corners of the monitor frame.

Remove plastic & rubber washers.

Pull monitor out, rotate anti-clockwise (confirmation please!) & slot back home.

Reassembly is reverse of above.

About 15 minutes to do. I'd recommend a friend to help rotate the monitor, as they are heavy bastards!
