Noobie Triforce question for NAOMI GD-ROM games

Hey all - first off, great info on the board. I've been scanning it all night.

I have a Triforce, Firmware 3.03 w/ 512 MBUSA Region cab setup that comes with Virtua Striker 2002. All tests OK.

I picked up another GD-ROM with the dongle, but when it went to load, I get Error 24: GD-ROM not found, which is usually when the GD-ROM drive itself is having issues - when I put VS2002 back in, all is good.

Thoughts?

I did scan the web site, and since I'm on triforce vs. naomi, I didn't have much luck in the FAQs - I apologize if this has been answered, but no luck finding it myself.

Thanks in advance! I'll check back in a week or so -mt

Error 24 means that the system could not read the disc. You mentioned that you removed the soccer game, but what is it? A cart? If you just put the GD system without a game disc and security IC, then you will get this message.

You cannot play Naomi GDROM games on a Triforce GDROM system.

Bummer.... re-direction?

Thanks Dave K - I categorized myself correctly as noob then :). Would you mind helping a few more questions?

1. Can NAOMI play TRIFORCE GD-ROM games?

2. Is there a link to converting a TRIFORCE machine to NAOMI only replacing the the TRIFORCE board with the SEGA NAOMI board?

I see many going for ~$100 on eBay, and seems like a low-risk approach - if the above prove doable and easy of course

Thanks again for you and others at this board - great place

Possibly answering own question #2 - validate?

Naomi and Triforce software are not compatible with each other. The hardware is completely different. Have you ever tried putting a PS2 game into an Xbox? They both use DVD media, but it doesn't mean that either will run the game.

Got it!

With such little info on the Triforce, I optimistically inferred references like "the NAOMI dev. team made the code compatible with the Triforce" and with the wiring, dimm, power, and gd-rom the same... oh well - not too hard to switch in a NAOMI mobo/ep-rom.

Thanks everyone for all your input - this is a very helpful community.
