Sega-Naomi

Hey Guys,



I couldn't wait any longer to get my cab before getting the Naomi, so I'm acquiring a Naomi 1 mobo and Capcom I/O.



My plan is to plug and play in my KI cabinet (JAMMA) until I can get the Net City cabinet that I want.



My question is based on the assumption that the JAMMA will power the N1 mobo through the Capcom I/O.



In addition to GDrom drive, SCSI cable and DIMM board, will I need anything additional to run the GDrom upgrade in my JAMMA cabinet?



Do I need a second power supply? I seem to recall reading that I might.

yes you will need to power the gdrom drive,be careful and make sure you get the voltages to the correct pins unless you want to fry the gdrom servo board

make sure your bios is gdrom ready (E version at least)

What he means is that the Capcom I/O by itself cannot (safely) power the Naomi system and the GD-Rom. You will have to power them separately. Take a look here for an example from the Sega-Naomi main webpage--->Universal Naomi Setup.
