The monitor mounting bracket protecting the picture tube neck sticks out too far to be able to get it into the cab when rotated. Is there something I should be trying?

Are you rotating in the right direction?

yeah, check to see if it's in the right direction, it could also be a replacement monitor, I recall reading that some don't fit if you try and rotate them. Perhaps check out the model number?

Indeed.. If it is a standard Astro, should be a Nanao MS8 or MS9..

It is an MS9, but it is also a replacement - it came from a US Time Crisis cab, and yes, I was doing it in the right direction.

if you take the back panel off will it fit? (that smaller flat metal one)
I think Riverservice sells plates that are kicked out to fit larger monitors, but I'm not 100% on that...

If you mean the back panel of the cab, no; in fact, I'm missing the rear panel. ... oh, you meant what the chassis is sitting on... that's not really a possibility.
But it occurs to me I might be able to shift the two bars left and then maybe it will fit... let me try it and get back to you.

Shifting the bars worked. The only crap part is that now the adjustment board, which is ON the mounting bracket, had to be put on the other side and will be upside down if the monitor is mounted normally. Not a big deal.
I must have an ancient Astro - '93 - because there's no place in the CP to mount the adjustment board.
.... there's always a complication - the video cabling won't reach the plug on the monitor when tated! ARGH!
.... and Andy doesn't carry the 15 pin Amp UP plugs and receptacles! ARGH!

He doesn't have them either, and even if he did, I would not buy them from him. Now, if I had $1800 to add the SF4 kits to my order, I'd do it. But 32 pounds for 10 connectors when you only need one is not an acceptable price.
