Been thinking about this for quite some time, as the readily available from Riverservice sucks, and the better Namco/Konami isn't something you can easily get - especially if you're newbie.
Is it a market for something like this? Hopefully I can keep pricing around 100? shipped - depends a bit on how much I stuff on it.
Features I've been thinking about:
Video:
-Videosignal stepdown to VGA levels, selectable via jumpers (no scanrate conversion..)
-HD15 VGA connetor
(HD 15 VGA connector for video pass-through)
-screw terminals for CGA out - for CGA2VGA converter boards
-screw terminals for 5V,12V and GND - for e.g. CGA2VGA converter boards
Audio:
-audiosignal stepdown to linelevel
-2xRCA connectors for audio out
Jamma stuff:
-Buttons 1-5 on jamma edge
-MVS remap mode, like JVS-PAC
-Kick harness buttons 4-6: -RJ45 socket (ethernet cable), cables you can get anywhere cheap to make kick harnesses
Cool stuff:
-autofire enable via jumper
-shiftkey enable via jumper (for e.g. credit input via 1pstart+button1)
-JVS pass-through, i.e. connect a normal USB cable from this board to your naomi/JVS game
-VS mode, daisychain two I/O boards, second cab player1 = player2 on jamma edge
Power:
-ATX (?)
-JVS (?)
-Screw terminals (?)
one or more of the above
The board will have JAMMA edge like the riverservice one, but a jamme extension cable can of course be used if you want to mount the board permanently in your cab.
What do you think, and any features I should include? upscan to 31k would be awesome, but unfortunately out of my league..
