18 gauge wire should be more than sufficient.

yes you need Japanese BIOS to enable VMU

yes you need 5v and 3.3v aswell as 12v

as for the "maple" connectors, I dont think that wiring DC pads to this alone will stop the I/O errors with MvC2, heck just having a 3 button CP connected to the NON JAMMA I/O stops MvC2 from booting as it doesnt detect enough buttons ready to use.

Powerstone boots without an I/O being present tho

I had the I/O board hooked up when I tried the maple connection. AlsoI could not get the DC PS to be stable so I am using an ATX supply for now till I can get a smaller mountable one.

It is a pian to do ghetto molex connections without the crimper. I give up. And how can I tell wich bios I have????

It's simple: Take off the game cart and look at the large bios chip on the motherboard. It should be marked with EPR-xxxxx. Compare the number with the ones shown on the Sega-Naomi main website under "Bios List". :smt069 :smt036

I never bothered to what the labels were on that stuff hehe. I have the korean bios. Damn I finally bought a molex crimper and life is so much sweeter now. Almost perfect crimps. :smt040

Time to hook up controls and mount the I/O :smt021
