Bios-D/GD-Rom question
Bios-D/GD-Rom question
i just bought a naomi setup off of ebay, and when i connected it all up it gave me error 1, and long story short i check the bios and it has 21577D bios, i checked the test menu and it doesn't give the opens to do a dimm test, so the system doesn't recognize it. Where can i buy new bios? (If that is the problem)
I know of 21576D and 21577E. Are you sure that's the version that's shown? For Naomi1, 21576E and later is needed for the GD/DIMM setup.
If you want to see a list of known bios versions, look here--->Bios revision list.<---
About the error, what game are you trying to run? Also, if the bios version you asked about is typed correctly, what region does the test mode
say it is? (like USA, Japan, Europe, etc)

i understand that E is need to use the gd-rom setup, the problem is that i (unknowingly) bought a naomi with D bios, bundled with the gd-reom accessories. This is my bios chip:

and this is the error i get when trying to run the any gd-rom games:

The test screen list naomi bios region as USA. The games that i have attempted to use are Virtua tennis and Sports Jam (both gd-rom).

Hmm. I don't really know then. :smt009
I just re-read the section in the user manual though and it emphasizes the letter, not the number. I would think that if the number were more important as a reference then they would list that as well, but I don't know. Maybe the real indicator is just the letter of the BIOS?
I supposed his BIOS could be mislabeled as well. There's only one way to know for sure and that is to try a known good BIOS. Seems a shame to put down $40 just to see if it'll work though...
