I OFFICIALLY DONT KNOW HOW TO WIRE UP MY NAOMI KIT !!!

Post by OldFoo »

Hello Everybody!

I'm Johnny, a very new member of this awesome site. I have always wanted to have my own arcade cabinet, the cost and it's monsterous size was always the issue. Now that I'm a "adult" now and make a bit of money, I've decided to make one of my dreams come true. So I went ahead and bought myself a Naomi Kit. As for the cabinet, I'm making it myself to keep the size on the smaller size. As for my expertise, I'm just winging it as I go along. I am very close to fishing my project adn the only thing that's holding me back is wiring up the unit. I have everything that's needed for this build and then some.

I would really appreaciate it if someone could help me step by step to fire up this thing.

THANKS !!!

You can always refer to the -->Naomi Wiring Diagram. This bypasses the need to write a very long description.

I was looking at the link and it still didn't help me. I wired up the unit and I get no display. I'm using a LCD monitor.

Check dip-switch 1 is set to 31K (can't remember if it needs to be up or down).

Turn you system off, flip the switch opposite way to what it is now, & then power on.

If no joy, then take a piccy of your setup

Which Naomi do you have (white or blue) and what game are you trying to run? Even if the DIP switch is not set correctly, it's weird that you are getting no sound at all. It could be any of the following:

1) There is not enough power running the system.

2) The Naomi mobo itself is not working at all.

There's some checking you need to do. :smt045

What did you do/find?

P.S.

When posting on the forums, you don't need to fill out the subject line. :D

I took a deep breath, took everything apart and reconnected everything.

I was wondering on what's the best resolution to run Marvel VS Capcom 2? I can't seem to run 15k on my 24 lcd monitor?

VGA monitors do not support 15k resolution. That is for standard (low-res) arcade monitors.
