Right, then. You just showed that there is nothing wrong with your house AC. However, 130VAC is within the limits of your psu. So you shouldn't get nothing on the psu's output. The fact that your monitor and marquee light turns on shows that the transformer is working (they wouldn't turn on otherwise). This still points to the psu as the problem. Power supplies do wear out eventually.

Ok.

So I need a new PSU then. Is there a particular brand/model that is recommended? Link?

Also, let's say that I get the new PSU and install it. Would I expect to have the same thing happen? Could that JAMMA extension harness possibly cause this (or again, if it was partially responsible the first time?)

Joshua - I really appreciate your help. (again) ;)

There are 2 possibilities:

1) The psu was on it's way out and it was just a coincidence.

2) There is a possibility that there is something wrong with the harness.

You can get another psu from Ebay or directly from Happ, to name a couple of examples. As for the extension harness, since you are dealing with 56 pins

it will be a little involved trying to test it. It is possible to do.

Step 1 - get a new PSU.

When I replace it, is it enough to just wire the posts (I would just copy the connections from the current PSU), or do I need to adjust something on the new PSU? I see a knob on them in the pics, so I was curious.

What should I do when I've connected the new PSU to make sure everything is kool and the gang?

Also, I'm assuming any of this would work:

I'll take the readings with the multimeter again to see what the new readings are, and hopefully, they'll be okay (ie. problem solved.)

Once installed and adjusted, I would just connect directly to a pcb to make sure it works.

If it does, then the only question would be the extension harness...

I'll worry about Step Two (the harness) later.

Can you confirm that this would be a process to follow?

Thanks,

Steve

Yes, the hookup is very simple. Just copy what's already present and everything will be fine. As for the adjustment knob, first test the psu output to make sure you get ~5 or 5.1v and ~12 or 12.1v which will be safe for just about any pcb. Connect the game you wish and check for proper operation and make adjustments if necessary.

The psu you showed from Happ is the correct type (standard) and will work perfectly.
