I just recieved my Capcom vs SNK Millenium Fight 2000 game, and it works perfectly, except for one thing: It always asks for two quarters to start, despite the setting for one coin play in the Naomi. I know it's not a big deal, but it still bugs me. that it's not working as set. I have the Naomi set for Common Coin Chute, and 1 Coin 1 Credit for both (setting # 1). Yet the game asks me for two coins to play.
I've had Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Gunspike for over two years, and both start with a single "coin". There's no settings in the CvsSNK game setting menu for coins either.
Also, setting the system for 2 coins one credit requires the correct amount for all games. (edit: wrong about that. Needs 4 coins to play this game.)

Ok, did more testing. One coin 2 credits works. Also found out that the coins are issuing the right number of credits. The thing is the game itself wants 2 credits to start. So even setting it for 5 coins means I need 10 coins to start.
Again, no real money being spent, so no real problem, but does anyone know why this is happening? Why would the game automatically want two whole credits to start? Just curiousity to understand Capcom's logic here. :smt017

I don't think it affects anything game-play wise. It's just how I prefer to have it set. I want it to take one coin to play, and I want the sound on during the attract mode (regular volume, not that half volume during demo stuff.) It's even to the point that I bought a real coin door on eBay, mounted it on wood blocks, and wired it up to the Naomi or the PC for use in MAME (note that it's only for the arcade "feel." I NEVER charge anyone to play the Naomi or MAME.)
If I ever open up my own arcade (which means I'll have to become a millionare first...) I'll have all my machines set up like that. Yes, every game in my game will cost only a quarter to play, from Donkey Kong to House of the Dead 4. And the gun games will actually be calibrated properly.
If only I were rich...
