Crazy Taxi speakers not working

Post by OldFoo »

Hello, can anyone help me with a problem I am having with a Crazy Taxi manufactured in 1999. The rear speakers and seat sub are not working, and the front lt and rt work fine. Also the screen seems to have an hourglass look to it towards the top. Can anyone help, Thanks for your time

sounds like a cable unplugged causing the speaker problem

hourglass effect could be bad adjustment of the side pin cushion,a photo speaks a thousand words

could have been a conversion??? I saw at the last auction Crazy Taxi that were put into Daytona 2 Cabinets, as still had the lime green paintwork badly painted over, and they had the subs I think?? was a while ago

Yeah this is most likely. Open up the cab, see if you got a low pass amp fitted.

CT is a stereo game, rear speakers might be present in the seat, but not used..

Last sit-down driver from Sega to use front/rear sound was Nascar Arcade, from ID onwards they ditched the rear and woofer speakers.

Thanks for all the help, the seat does have the sub and rear speakers when i pulled the seat up it is only connected to the sub amp well what i believe to be the sub amp their is just two wires a pink and gray from the amp and their was nothing connected to the rear speakers and no sound from the sub the rear speakers and sub all connect to the same connector but only two go thru to the amp. Does anyone have a suggestion on the hourglass figure on the top of the monitor? Thanks again, Wayne

side pincushion is an adjustment pot on most monitors,if it is out of adjustment then you will have an inward/outward bowing effect on the side of the picture

a photo of a screen shot would help id if it is that in seconds
