Hi there. I'm extremely new to the arcade cabinet scene, and even newer to my interest in Naomi. So I apologize if this has been asked or covered before.
I just bought a NAC with a dual res 15khz/24khz monitor. I'm using it currently with an MVS system.
I've read Naomi can do both 15 and 31 khz resolution. Will all Naomi games display in both resolutions, and if so, do Naomi games in general look like crap at 15 khz? Initially I think I'd be picking up a Naomi 1 cart based system with games like MVC 2, SVC 2, and Powerstone 1,2.
Thanks for the help in advance.
New to Naomi Question about 15 khz vs. 31 khz
Sorry about the posting location. Where should I have posted this thread? Mods please move this. I apologize.
I guess my main question is considering the cabinet I have, will I be disappointed playing a Naomi with a dual res monitor? Is upgrading the monitor necessary? I know that's a subjective question. I wish I could find some screen shots or youtube videos comparing 15khz with 31khz Naomi games. That would help me decide for myself.
Also a completely unrelated question, to get started with a Naomi-the MB, Capcom I/O, and a cart with all wiring (including kick harness)-What should I expect to pay? I guess I don't care if it's a Naomi 1 or 2, but it seems like a 2 would be better to build off in the future. The prices on Ebay seem pretty high.

playing at 15k is fine, and still looks amazing!!!!
if you go the Capcom IO route, expect to pay maybe $150-250 for a IO and Naomi 1 motherboard, maybe $100 more for a Naomi 2 ??? on eBay you can score some good deals just be quick as dont last long! or best bet try on here!
Thanks for moving the topic. Just what I wanted to hear!!! (about the 15khz being just fine). So a Naomi 1 MB+a Capcom I/O board would be a total of 250 bucks? That's not too bad, plus a game of course and a kick harness. Another side note.
I think it's through these forums, but I'm checking in with Giz 10p for possibly buying my starter Naomi setup. In general, are people pretty happy with them? Also, if I were to buy from them, would I have any problems powering my system (or others problems) considering there Naomi is a Euro and I'm located in the US? Or is that all based on the Bios which they note they will change depending on what you ask for.
Thanks in advance.
