Newbie question on hooking up a Naomi kit on a JAMMA cab.

Post by DAROCK »

[/b] Hey guys ! How are you -? I am very happy I found this site online last night, as I was hooking up my Naomi kit. I ran into some problems,

anyhelp would be great. I purchased this kit last week -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0156982194.

I hooked everything up and I got no sound,no controls or coin-in. I am using a WWF Wrestlefest cab. The video was showing fine, until I started to look for the coin-in wires, and I accidentally made two wires touch by the coin-counter, and I smelled a little smoke. So I turned the unit off, made sure everything is fine, then I put it on again. Video came on again, but everything is in YELLOW. I don't know if I burned something out-?

Also why am I not getting any sound, controls or coin-in.-? Do I need the Capcom converter-? Or is the Sego I/O ok-? Anyhelp would be grealty appericated ! Thank you

I also tested another Jamma PCB and the video was fine, so I didn't burn out the chassis. ;)

Can you take a bigger picture of the stuff you got? You seem to have 2 I/O's from the eBay picture, but I can't be sure.

What revision sega I/O are you running. I know there are issues with the Rev A I/O and Coining. Just set the system to freeplay in the test menu.

For the Video, try changing the VGA cable to see if it's a problem with that. Other thing could be if the 1st Jumper is set to display the wrong resolution that you don't get an image, although that wouldn't really explain the yellow image. Maybe try checking the JAMMA connector is firmly attached to the edge on the I/O.

Sound should be fine with the sega amp you have.

Thanks for the reply. I am at work right now, I'll take some pics tonight.

I did get two I/O's from ebay. I think because the game can be switched to 4 player,it is a WWF Royal Rumble cart. How can I tell what revision Sega I/O I am running -? I would love to set the game to free play, how-?

I try setting it at the coin adjustments menu, but no luck. I'll try another VGA cable tonight. About the sound, I thought that I would have to do some mods to get it to work-? I am also missing the wires that connects to the black edge connectors in the middle of the I/O board. I am getting the wires tomorrow. What does those wires do-? Anyhelp would be great !

Thanks !
