Sega I/o rev.B Powered or not??

Post by OldFoo »

Hello everybody, i'm new, from italy.

I got a Naomi universal cabinet, with a naomi 1 and the Sega i/o rev.b

Everything goes perfectly, since today, when i got a naomi 2.

I was hoping everything was plugged right, but when i try it, the screen just remains black :smt017 first, i asked my self, my I/o is powered or not? the CN6 connector is free..as the naomi 1 works fine i just can't understand if my naomi 2 dosn't work because it needs to be powerd the I/o or something else :smt017

Some help? :smt013

Thanks! ;)

The system is not powered by the I/O, so you don't need to worry about that. If the I/O is not powered, you would get an error saying that it cannot find the I/O.

Is the Naomi2 supposed to be working? As in, you either tested it yourself or you saw it working and only now it doesn't work? If not, it may be broken. The only alternative is the fact that Naomi 1&2 have different power requirements and your PSU is not providing enough (or possibly too much) power. In a Universal cab, this would mean a simple adjustment with a screwdriver.

Also, make double sure all of your connections are correctly made.

Thanks joshua. As i'm too scared to "play" with power (i've broke 3 Gd-roms last time).. i will try with a CAPCOM i/o and see what happens.. it sounds good

Like Joshua said it shouldn't be the IO.. If it is the system will power up (ie not black) and says it cannot find the IO.

In addition to what Joshua said you may want to check the dip switch settings to make sure you have the correct video output settings
